Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 4th, 2014) - The Carolina RailHawks (Fall Season: 6W-1T-7L, 19pts) suffered their first loss in four matches to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (Fall Season: 5W-3T-5L, 15pts) on Saturday night at the historic Lockhart Stadium in Florida.

"Obviously, we are disappointed that we didn't we didn't get the three points tonight." said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke. "Now we need to go back and get ready for our game next week in Edmonton. There are a lot of games and a lot of points left to play for, it's probably going to come down to the last weekend. We're disappointed we didn't get any points this game, but Fort Lauderdale deserved to win it."

It took a brilliant save from RailHawks' goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald to keep the Strikers from scoring in the first half, after the referee awarded a penalty kick in the 22nd minute.

The RailHawks were unable to build off the first-half penalty save by Akira Fitzgerald and a mid-second-half goal from Fort Lauderdale was enough for them to take away the full three points from the match.

Despite tonight's loss, the Carolina RailHawks remain in fourth place of the NASL Combine Standings (10W-3T-10L, 33pts), which would earn the team a spot in The Championship Semifinals.

Up next, the Carolina RailHawks will travel to Canada to take on FC Edmonton next Sunday. The RailHawks will return to WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, October 18 to face the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Tickets to the match are on-sale NOW.
