RailHawks Host Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Saturday at 7pm

CARY, N.C. (April 17, 2013) - The Carolina RailHawks (1W-1T-0L, 4pts) will open Week 3 of NASL play on Saturday, April 20th when they host the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (0W-1T-1L, 1pts) at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:00pm. Latin Fest, a new addition to the RailHawks pregame festivities, includes live music, the taco truck, a youth soccer clinic, and beer & margarita samplings beginning at 5:00pm next to WakeMed Soccer Park stadium. "We have had a great week of training. The boys are going to be ready and we need to take full advantage of playing at home in front of our supporters," said RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke. "I think Fort Lauderdale were unlucky to only earn a point thus far and very easily could be higher in the standings. Both teams are going to be ready to play and the fans at WakeMed (Soccer Park) are going to see exciting, hard-fought match on Saturday night."

The April 13th 2-1 victory over FC Edmonton saw the RailHawks accent to the top of the NASL standing in the young 2013 season, currently tied with Tampa Bay at 4 points. For the second consecutive week, the RailHawks starting lineup included 9 players from North Carolina or played collegiately at a North Carolina university. Two of those players were last Saturday's goal scorers, forward Brian Shriver and midfielder Austin da Luz. Fort Lauderdale travels to Carolina, coming off a 2-0 loss to the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Saturday's Latin Fest continues to add to the RailHawks exciting game day festivals and new amenities at WakeMed Soccer Park. Last week the RailHawks opened with the Grand Opening of the New WakeMed Soccer Park and the new tradition of the each match's Postgame Party hosted in the Conductor's Deck. Latin Fest will be the first pregame festival of 2013 and will be followed by the 6th Annual Taste of the Triangle, 2nd Annual Pig Pickin', and Soktoberfest in the fall.

The RailHawks have added defender and former UNC Tar Heel, Eddie Ababio to the roster pending NASL and US Soccer approval. Ababio becomes the 11th player on the RailHawks roster that is a native of North Carolina or played college soccer at a North Carolina university.
