North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, NC (June 7, 2013) - With only 5 weeks remaining in the NASL Spring Season, the Carolina RailHawks (3W-3T-1L, 12pts) host the Tampa Bay Rowdies (3W-3T-2L, 12pts) on Saturday, June 8th at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:00pm ET. The rival clubs sit a point behind the first-place Atlanta Silverbacks and will look to gain a victory to potentially jump to the top of the NASL Standings. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on www.CarolinaRailHawks.com/live and 99.9HD-3 The Ticket.

"Every game from here on is big and we need to make sure we take care of business at home," said RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke. "Tampa Bay is a good team, they are well organized and work hard for each other. They are the reigning champs and we want to dethrone them."

The RailHawks return to WakeMed Soccer Park after a trip to Fort Lauderdale, where the RailHawks came away with a valuable point on the road thanks to an 81st minute goal from Brian Shriver. The Rowdies are on the road for the second straight weekend after a scoreless draw in Edmonton. Both clubs have had success in recent Third Round U.S. Open Cup play with the RailHawks defeating the LA Galaxy 2-0 and Tampa Bay Rowdies upsetting the Seattle Sounders 1-0. In the Round of 16, the RailHawks will host Chivas USA (MLS) and Tampa Bay will travel to play the Portland Timbers (MLS).

All-time the RailHawks are 4W-5T-0L in NASL regular season play against the Rowdies, but it was the Rowdies that ended the RailHawks 2012 Season with a 5-4 aggregate score victory in the Semifinal Round of the 2012 NASL Playoffs. In two years of NASL play, the RailHawks and Rowdies have played to the same result in all four regular season meetings each year. In 2011, the RailHawks tallied four victories over the Rowdies and in 2012 the teams earned four draws.

The RailHawks will continue their participation in the 100th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, June 12th when they host Chivas USA of Major League Soccer at WakeMed Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm ET. To purchase tickets or a Chivas USA 3-Pack visit www.CarolinaRailHawks.com/ChivasUSA.
