CARY, NC (August 11, 2010) - The Carolina RailHawks (7-5-7, 28 pts) fell to the Rochester Rhinos (11-5-6, 39 pts) 2-0 on Wednesday night. Tyler Rosenlund and Ryan Heins both scored in Rochester's win.

"On a night like tonight when it's stifling hot, you have to score first," said RailHawks Head Coach Martin Rennie. "Because when you don't score first you have to put so much energy into getting that goal back that you usually end up giving up a goal on the break, which is what happened tonight."

The first half was a defensive dead lock, barring a 15th minute strike from Rochester's Rosenlund. Rosenlund received a pass from Isaac Kissi, cut past the RailHawks defense, and slotted the ball home to put the Rhinos up 1-0. The RailHawks were unable to even up the score, heading into the locker room down 1-0.

The RailHawks had a few opportunities to equalize in the second half, but were unable to do so. The best chance of the night for Carolina came in the 71st minute when Cory Elenio sent in a dangerous cross that Andriy Budnyy nearly connected on. Rochester sealed the game in the 79th minute when Ryan Heins finished on a pass from Adam West.

"One thing this team has done well after a disappointment or adversity is bounce back," said Rennie. "We're still in a very good position to win our conference and that's a very realistic possibility."

Next, the RailHawks travel to Baltimore this Saturday, August 14 for an afternoon match against Crystal Palace. They return to WakeMed Soccer Park on August 18 to host Miami FC. It will be Taste of the Triangle night and fans will be able to sample food and learn more about several Triangle restaurants.
