August 10, 2010 - U.S. Soccer Federation D-2 (USSF D-2)
North Carolina FC News Release
The Carolina RailHawks (7-4-7, 28 pts.) are all set to host the Rochester Rhinos (10-5-6, 36 pts.) on Wednesday, August 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets ($10, $15 and $20, +$2 day of game) are available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-5425 or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
"We let ourselves down when we played Rochester the last time at home," said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. "That was the catalyst for us improving our performance and we've done well the last two games. We are looking to continue our attacking form while defending as well. There is a good rivalry between these two teams so fans can expect a good, hard-fought game."
The Rhinos sit in second place in the USL conference behind the Austin Aztex and have won their last two games, including the last matchup with the RailHawks. Forwards Isaac Kissi and Anthony Hamilton lead the team with four goals each. Former RailHawks captain Frankie Sanfilippo is likely to return to the lineup for Rochester after sitting out their last visit to Carolina.
The RailHawks are coming off a 2-0 victory against the Montreal Impact last Saturday. Josh Gardner added another goal to his kitty (his 5th) and is now tied for the team-lead in goals and points, while Cory Elenio scored his first goal of the season thanks to a great assist by Etienne Barbara. Barbara is going to have to sit this game out after receiving a red card at the end of the match Saturday night.
Wednesday night will also be CASL night and the RailHawks will honor the recipients of the Hamilton Sportsmanship Award with a parade of all the winners at halftime. Special ticket pricing will be available for all CASL players and their families.
Next, the RailHawks travel to Baltimore this Saturday, August 14, for an afternoon match against Crystal Palace. They Return to WakeMed Soccer Park on August 18 to host Miami FC. It will be Taste of the Triangle night and fans will be able to sample food and learn more about several Triangle restaurants. For tickets and information visit the LGFCU Box Office at www.carolinarailhawks.com or call www.carolinarailhawks.com.
