
Miami FC Reinforces Roster with Four New Additions

Miami, Aug 10, 2010- Miami FC announced the addition of four players to bolster its roster as the team prepares to gear itself for the final two months of the season, fighting for a playoff berth. Chivas USA's Gerson Mayén and Chucwudi Chijindu and Kansas City Wizards defender Aaron Hohlbein were sent to the Blues on loan. Completing the group of newcomers is Traffic Sports product Danilo Martins Teixeira. Terms of the deals were not disclosed as per team policy.
"We are very excited to have all of these players join the team and it shows that we are making a commitment to make the playoffs this season," Miami FC General Manager Luiz Muzzi said. "These are players with valuable MLS and international experience who will make an immediate impact on the field and help us reach the goals we set out for this year."
Mayén, a midfielder from Los Angeles, signed with Chivas USA in 2008 and made his MLS debut in the second game of the 2009 season, a match where he picked up an assist for his new team. Mayén played 12 matches in 2009 and made four appearances for Chivas USA. The 21-year-old midfielder also made several appearances for the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team, including a match against Germany in the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
Chijindu, a forward and Fontana native, signed with Chivas USA in 2009 and made his MLS debut in the Honda Super Clásico against the LA Galaxy, scoring his first goal a week later against Seattle Sounders FC. In 2010, Chijindu played 12 games with the club, scoring one goal.
Hohlbein was drafted by the Wizards in the first round of the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft as the third overall pick and has made 43 appearances, including 41 starts, over the last four seasons with the organization. He has scored two career goals and added one assist during his time in Kansas City.
Martins is an up-and-coming player within the Traffic organization. The Brazilian forward was São Paulo's A2 league's leading goal scorer playing for Ferroviaria last season. He will be joining the team after stints with Santos FC, Itumbiara and Cabofriense.
