North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, NC (Thursday, April 29, 2010) - The Carolina RailHawks (1-1-0) visit the Rochester Rhinos (2-1-1) this weekend at Marina Auto Stadium in the first road game of the 2010 campaign. Kickoff against the Rhinos is set for 7 p.m. and fans will be able to watch it on the Rhinos TV website at www.rhinossoccer.tv.
"The Rhinos are off to a good start," said RailHawks Coach Martin Rennie. "I have seen some of their games and they have been impressive. They are in a situation similar to the one we were in last year with a lot of new players, but they are a very well organized team and it will be a good test for us in their home opener."
The Rhinos enter the match with a little momentum after winning their last two road games against Austin and Minnesota. Rochester made a coaching change in the off-season and hired veteran coach Bob Lilley. The RailHawks can expect a completely new team as Lilley only kept three players from the previous season and brought in many reinforcements, including former RailHawk Frankie Sanfilippo.
"We already played two games and have three points," said RailHawks forward Sallieu Bundu. "It will be very important for us to get three points on our first road trip as it will give us more confidence. Rochester is basically a new team so we don't know what to expect but we will go up there looking to score and win."
Next the RailHawks travel to Miami FC on May 8th before returning home to host the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. The match is presented by Time Warner Cable and all children in attendance will receive thunder sticks courtesy of North Carolina's cable company. Tickets ($10, $15 and $20), for the match are available at the LGFCU Box Office, by calling 919-859-5425 or by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com.
