Indianapolis, Ind. - The Carolina RailHawks (4W-2D-4L) fell to Indy Eleven (4W-6D-0L) 4-1 on Saturday night at Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. in the final match of the NASL Spring Season.
The first half was filled with action as Indy Eleven struck first in the 15th minute with a goal by Eamon Zayed who headed in a cross from Nemanja Vukovic. Carolina answered back in the 29th minute as captain Nazmi Albadawi took control and fired a shot from just outside the 18-yard box, finding the lower left corner past Indy goalkeeper Jon Busch.
With the match tied at 1-1 late in the first half, tensions began to rise. In the 36th minute, Zayed collided with Carolina goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald, knocking the ball from Fitzgerald's hands into the net, resulting in a foul on Zayed. Indy Eleven's second goal came in the first half's stoppage time as Justin Braun found the back of the net off a cross from Vukovic.
Out of the locker room, both teams created chances but were unable to convert, until Zayed scored his second goal of the night in the 65th minute assisted by Omar Gordon. Zayed, however, was far from done as he completed his hat trick with a header in the 85th to seal the final score of 4-1.
