North Carolina FC News Release

The Carolina RailHawks are offering fans a 55-hour window in which to purchase tickets at a reduced rate for their quarterfinal match-up against Vancouver on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The special will run from noon on Tuesday, Sept. 22 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Premium seats will be offered for just $8 (normally $17). Fifty-five signifies the number of points the RailHawks earned in the USL-1 table this season, shattering the previous club record of 37. Carolina went 16-7-7 during the regular season and finished second in the USL-1 table. The 16 wins and second-place finish are also franchise bests.

Back in the playoffs for the first time since 2007, Carolina will meet defending USL-1 champion Vancouver in the two-leg, aggregate goal quarterfinals. The first leg will be played at Vancouver's Swangard Stadium on Thursday at 10:30 p.m. EST, while the return leg will be Sunday at WakeMed Soccer Park at 5 p.m.

Fan Favorite Voting Still Open

Every year the RailHawks players vote for MVP, Unsung Hero, and Offensive and Defensive player of the year. This year they have decided to add an award to the ceremonies and they want you, their fans, to be a part of the voting process.

The RailHawks would like to know who the "Fan Favorite" is for the 2009 season. Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite player online by visiting www.carolinarailhawks.com and clicking on the roster tab. Voting will be open until Friday, September 25 at noon.

All award recipients will be announced right before the RailHawks first round playoff game on Saturday, September 27 at WakeMed Soccer Park at 5 p.m.
