USL-1 Quarterfinals Set

TAMPA, FL - United Soccer Leagues announced Monday the schedule for the 2009 USL First Division Quarterfinals set to be played over a two-leg aggregate score series Thursday, September 24 and Sunday, September 27. The USL on Fox Soccer Channel matches were also announced for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.

The USL-1 postseason will start in the North on Thursday evening as the Rochester Rhinos and the two Canadian sides Montreal and Vancouver will all play host to the opening legs of their series.

The Rhinos will take on the Puerto Rico Islanders in a rematch of the 2008 Semifinal series in which Rochester posted a 2-0 victory at home only to see Puerto Rico level at home to force overtime, where they tallied the series winner. The first leg will be at 7:05 pm ET at Marina Auto Stadium and the second leg will be in Bayamon Sunday at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium at 6:00 pm ET. Both games will air on USLlive.com.

The Battery will travel north of the border to visit the Impact in the first leg of their series at Saputo Stadium Thursday at 7:45 pm ET before returning home to host Montreal at Blackbaud Stadium Sunday at 7:00 pm ET. The first leg will be available on USLlive.com and the second will air on Fox Soccer Channel.

Carolina will travel across the continent to visit Vancouver in the opening leg of their series at Swangard Stadium at 10:30 pm ET in Burnaby, BC. The defending champions will then trek to Cary to face the RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park at 5:00 pm ET Sunday. Both games will be available on USLlive.com.

Fox Soccer Channel Broadcasts

The USL on FSC schedule shifts to Sunday for the next two weeks and will feature the Charleston Battery playing host to Montreal at 7:00 pm ET on Sunday, September 27. The following week, the regular season champion Portland Timbers will play host to the lowest remaining playoff seed at 7:00 pm ET Sunday, October 4.

The playoffs will conclude with the USL-1 Championship Series Saturday, October 11 and Saturday, October 17. Both games will air on Fox Soccer Channel.
