RailHawk Makes USL-1 Team Of The Week
April 22, 2008 - USL First Division (USL-1)
North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, NC - The United Soccer Leagues announced Team of the Week honors for the first week of the 2008 season on Tuesday, and midfielder Steven Curfman was among the honorees. Curfman was named to the list for his beautiful set piece goal in the RailHawks season opener on Saturday, April 19th in Atlanta that resulted in a 1-1 draw
"It was an excellent first goal," said RailHawks Head Coach Scott Schweitzer. "It is always good to score on a free kick as it changes the way defenders play their game. Steven played the game intelligently and is a welcome addition to the team."
Steven Curfman and the rest of the Carolina RailHawks, including Captain Frankie Sanfillippo will now face the Charleston Battery in the RailHawks Home Opener on Saturday April 26th at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. The match, presented by WakeMed, will most likely see the return of defenders Joey Worthen and David Stokes to the starting lineup. Both players were not available in Atlanta due to card suspension.
The first 2,500 fans will receive a mini soccer ball courtesy of WakeMed. There will be a pre-game BBQ and live concert in the Tecate Sports Zone and the game will end with postgame fireworks.
