
RailCats Release Two Pitchers

Gary, Ind.--The Gary SouthShore RailCats Professional Baseball Club today released pitchers Dan Soria and Thomas Ford. Today's roster moves reduce the RailCats current roster to 26 players, four above their opening day limit of 22.
Soria, who had been on the RailCats inactive list after expressing his intentions to retire, made 34 starts for the club over the 2003-'04 seasons. He posted a record of 9-15 with a 5.18 earned run average. Soria is a native of East Chicago, Indiana and is beginning a career in law enforcement.
Ford had been claimed off waivers by the RailCats in April but did not report to spring training.
The RailCats 2005 season opener is Friday, May 20 at Joliet. The home opener is Monday, May 23 vs. Edmonton. For tickets, call (219) 882-2255.
