
RailCats Decline Option on Six Players

GARY, Ind. - The RailCats have declined the option on six players who finished the 2012 season with the club:
RHP Andrew Johnston
RHP Nolan Nicholson
RHP Alberto Rolon
IF Chris Carrara
IF Mike Rohde
OF Eric Suttle
These players are now free agents and may negotiate with any team, including the RailCats.
Johnston was 0-3 with a 5.25 ERA for the RailCats in just 24 innings of work after missing over two months due to a back injury. Nicholson, who has announced his retirement, was 4-3 with a 3.25 ERA in 39 appearances out of the bullpen. Rolon was 1-1 with an 8.69 ERA in four starts for the RailCats.
Carrara hit .261 with a home run and 30 RBI in his fourth season with the RailCats. Rohde hit .257 with five homers and 42 RBI in his fifth season with the club. Both players are still in the process of deciding whether or not to continue their playing careers.
Suttle hit .382 (13-for-34) with seven RBI in 14 games with the RailCats. He was also 5-for-15 with an RBI while playing for Germany in the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in September.
