LAST TIME OUT: The Rail Yard Dawgs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second period and hung on to defeat the Quad City Storm, 4-2, Tuesday night at TaxSlayer Center. Jacob Caffrey made 27 saves on 29 shots as the Dawgs snapped a season-long four-game winless streak.

FAR FROM HOME: The Storm are the team that plays the farthest from the Rail Yard Dawgs as Moline's TaxSlayer Center is a 793 mile drive from Berglund Center. The Dawgs are in the Quad Cities to play games five, six and seven of the 11 consecutive games they will play away from home ice. Roanoke is 8-9-3 on the road this season and 13-10-1 at home. The Dawgs are 1-3-1 on the current road swing. Of their 12 remaining regular season games, nine will come on the road and four will be played at home.

THE REST OF THE WAY: Of the Rail Yard Dawgs' 12 remaining regular season games, eight will be played against Pensacola (4), Quad City (2) and Evansville (2), the three teams below the Dawgs in the standings. Roanoke will also play Knoxville and Fayetteville once apiece, two of the three teams it is within three points of.

ADAMS RETURNS: Dawgs defenseman Alex Adams was returned from the ECHL's Brampton Beast on Thursday. Adams was originally called up by the Maine Mariners and also played for the Worcester Railers in the ECHL before making his way to Brampton. He was twice claimed on ECHL waivers during his call up. In five games for the Rail Yard Dawgs he has three assists and is +1. As a counter to the Adams addition, the Dawgs released Cal Miska.

SAVE THE PUCK: Mike Crowley scored in the second period of the Rail Yard Dawgs' 4-2 win on Tuesday, his first professional goal. Crowley has played four games with the Dawgs following the conclusion of his college career at Cortland State. He also picked up an assist on the third Roanoke goal on Tuesday for his first pro point. In 93 games for Cortland, Crowley had 13 goals and 45 assists. During his senior season in 2018-19, he finished with three goals and 13 assists.

HELLO, OLD FRIEND: Former Rail Yard Dawg Phil Bronner is an alternate captain for the Storm. The winger was traded to Quad City from Roanoke in the preseason. Bronner played 84 games for Roanoke over two seasons and had 12 goals and 22 assists in his time with the Dawgs. In 38 games for the Storm this year he has two goals and 12 assists. The Quad City roster also features defenseman Cody Walsh, who played 55 games for Roanoke in the 2016-17 season, and goaltender Ryan Mulder, who spent training camp with the Rail Yard Dawgs.

UP NEXT: The Rail Yard Dawgs and Storm will finish out their season series on Saturday night in the Quad Cities. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:10 PM CST at TaxSlayer Center.
