Rage Trio Honored With Player of the Week Awards
St. Charles, MO - Three players from the RiverCity Rage of United Indoor Football (UIF) have been selected as Players of the Week. Linebacker CJ Jones was named Defensive Player of the Week. Quarterback Anthony Fisher and defensive back Taurus Ferguson were named Honorable Mention for their play in Week 5 in the Rage's 58-53 victory over Rock River.
Jones had six solo tackles, four assists and one interception. The eight total tackles are the single-game season high for the Rage. Jones ranks second on the team and 11th in the UIF with 23.5 tackles in five games.
Fisher was 13-for-21 passing with a season-high six touchdown passes to four different receivers. He is currently tied for first in the UIF with 18 touchdown throws. Fisher also ranks fifth in the league with 148.6 yards passing per game.
Ferguson averaged 26 yards on three kickoff returns, including a 53-yard touchdown dash. The touchdown was the first on a kickoff return for the Rage this season.
The Rage (5-0) will hit the road this week to play the Colorado Ice (3-2) on Saturday. The game can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM Radio and KJFF 1400 AM Radio as well as online at www.ragefootball.com. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CDT. Previously, the Rage defeated the Ice 46-39 on April 7th.
