
UIF Announces Players of the Week
April 25, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release
Omaha, NE - United Indoor Football is pleased to announce that Maques Smith, C.J. Jones and Odest Shannon have been named the three Players of the Week for week five. Smith of the Sioux Falls Storm led the Storm over the Outlaws to receive Offensive Player of the Week. Jones of the RiverCity Rage was voted as the Defensive Player of the Week for his play against the Rock River Raptors. Shannon of the Evansville Bluecats, has been named Special Teams Players of the Week, for his play against the Sioux City Bandits.
Marques Smith (SFS) ran 20 times for 65 yards, four TD's and had one reception for eight yards. In week six, the Storm have a bye this week before traveling to Colorado..
C.J. Jones (RIV) had six solo tackles, four assists, eight total tackles and one interception. RiverCity will visit Colorado this Saturday.
Odest Shannon (EVA) had two kickoff returns for 25 yards, one fumble recovery, 14
rushing yards, and one reception for 17 yards and one TD. The BlueCats will visit Ohio Valley Saturday.
Receiving Week Three Honorable Mentions are: Offense, Anthony Fisher (RIV); Defense, Choo Choo Davis (EVA); and Special Teams, Taurus Ferguson (RIV).
