Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (18-21, 3-1 2nd half) defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (22-17, 1-3 2nd half) by three runs in a quality win on the road.

The Rafters got the party started in the fourth when a Dock Spider error allowed Victor Carlino (Long Beach State) to score from second base. Mitch Mallek (St. Cloud State) then followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0 Rafters after three and a half innings. The cranberry and gold plated two more in the fifth with a base hit from Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) and an RBI double from Jake Dunham (Northern Illinois). Fond du Lac responded with two runs in their fifth frame off back-to-back doubles.

With a two-run lead 4-2 in the sixth, Matt Schmidt (Michigan) pushed the lead to three with a leadoff home run, his first homer of the year. Hunter Robichaux (Bucknell), Hunter Waldis (Seton Hall) and Mason McReaken (SIU Edwardsville) combined for four scoreless relief innings to seal the win for Wisconsin Rapids.

Tyler Giovinco (2-0, 4.00 ERA) earned his second win in as many starts. The loss went to Jon Mierzwa (0-3, 5.81 ERA) who gave up four earned runs but struck out eight. Mason McReaken (1-1, 0.00 ERA) earned his third save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
