Chico Outlaws News Release

(Chico, CA. July 1st, 2010) The Chico Outlaws announced today that in conjunction with MLB Productions, the "Knuckle Princess" Eri Yoshida will be interviewed for a segment on the long-running baseball show "This Week In Baseball".

Otherwise known as "TWIB", the show debuted back in 1972 and has long been a staple of professional baseball aficionados and casual fans alike. You can often catch "TWIB" at major league ballparks on the big video boards during pre-game activities.

The interview will occur after Yoshida's July 2nd start at Nettleton Stadium in Chico against the St George Roadrunners, her fourth start of the year.

The "TWIB" crew will also be shooting video footage of Eri pitching during the game and fans are encouraged to bring signs to the ballpark for the game. No air date on "TWIB" has been announced at this time.

Yoshida, 18, last pitched on June 24th against the Edmonton Capitals, going five innings and allowing just two earned runs (three total runs) on five hits, taking the loss in a 10-2 Capitals win over the Outlaws.

Additionally, Chico mayor Ann Schwab has contacted the Outlaws and plans on issuing a city proclamation to honor Yoshida celebrating her milestone and the occassion of her being included in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The proclamations are used to commemorate special events or celebrations occurring in the community.

No date has been set yet for an official ceremony at the Nett.

St George comes calling to the Nett on Thursday night to begin a four-game holiday weekend series against the Outlaws. Leftie Demetrius Banks takes the ball for Chico looking for his fifth win of the year against right-hander Matt Rossingol of the Roadrunners.

The game can be watched live on line at www.en.justin.tv.com/chicooutlawsbaseball as Dan Hawkins brings you all the action on the Outlaws Baseball Network.
