AUGUSTA, N.J. - One night after the teams combined for 33 runs on 42 hits, the Quebec Capitales crept past the Sussex Skyhawks, 2-1, on Friday night at Skylands Park. With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the ninth, Alex Nunez grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Pat Deschenes from third with the game-winning run.

Quebec reliever Cody Castle picked up the win after throwing two innings of relief. Starter Chris Allen scattered six hits and gave up just one run in seven innings of work for Les Capitales. Reliever Sandy Nin took the loss for the Skyhawks. Starting pitcher Justin Knoff went 7 2/3 innings, giving up one run on nine hits.

The teams were scoreless through six until Jeremy Hunt smacked a solo homerun to left field to give Sussex a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh. Quebec got on the board in the top of the eighth when Tony Lewis lined an RBI-double to right with two outs to tie the game 1-1. Lewis finished 3-for-4 for Quebec.

The Skyhawks return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. for game three of the four game series against Les Capitales.
