Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Quakes saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Friday night as the Visalia Rawhide upended Rancho by a final of 11-5 at LoanMart Field.
A three-run sixth against Rancho reliever Marco Corcho (3-3) snapped a 5-5 tie, sending Visalia into the lead for good and helping to end their own five-game losing streak.
Rancho trailed on multiple occasions, but fought back to tie the game at 5-5. Jaron Elkins had a two-run double, while debuting third baseman Chase Harlan ripped a solo-shot in his first game as a Quake as part of the comeback effort.
Eduardo Guerrero's second hit of the game, an RBI single, tied the game at 5-5 in the fourth against eventual winner Adonys Perez (6-4).
Visalia added to their lead with three in the eighth, taking a commanding 11-5 advantage against the Rancho bullpen.
The Quakes (12-16, 53-41) will send lefty Sterling Patick (1-4) to the mound on Saturday night, as he'll take on Visalia's Chung-Hsiang Huang at 6:30pm.
Everyone will enjoy Fireworks after Saturday's game, thanks to Massage Envy. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
