Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

After falling behind two times, the JetHawks were able to fight back and tie the game. The third time Rancho Cucamonga took the lead, however, proved to be too much. A run-scoring single in the eighth inning gave the Quakes a 5-4 win and a third straight one-run win over the JetHawks. Lancaster has now dropped three straight following a season-high five-game winning streak.

The first comeback came in the second inning. Down 2-0, Rayner Conteras singled for the JetHawks. Brandon Barnes chopped a double down the left field line to drive in Contreras. That was followed by a single by Brandon Wikoff to tie the game at two.

Though he struggled early, Brad Dydalewicz persevered through five innings for Lancaster. After giving up two runs in the first, the Quakes added another in the second and one in the fifth to extend the lead back to two. Ashton Mowdy came out of the bullpen and held the Quakes quiet for two innings to give the JetHawks a chance for another comeback.

It came in the seventh inning with two outs. Wikoff walked, bringing up Josh Flores. Flores hammered a 1-0 pitch over the left field wall for his first home run of the year, tying the game at four.

The tie didn't last long. The Quakes loaded the bases with no one out against Mowdy in the eighth inning. Kyle Godfrey came out of the bullpen and struck out the first batter he saw. However, Alexi Amarista's single to left field brought home what would be the game-winning run.

Flores had two hits for Lancaster. Mark Ori had his 13-game hit streak come to an end while Freddy Parejo extended his hitting streak to a career-best eleven straight games.

The JetHawks road trip moves to Lake Elsinore Friday night. Shane Wolf (2-2) will pitch for the Lancaster against Jorge Reyes (3-2 of the Storm). The game begins at 7:05 pm and will be broadcast live on CSN @ JetHawks.com and NewsTalk 1380 AM with the JetHawks Pre-Game Show beginning at 6:50.
