
Quakes' 2010 Roster Revealed

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim finalized their minor league rosters on Monday, as the 2010 Rancho Cucamonga Quakes pre-season roster is now set.
The 2010 roster includes ten players who have spent time on a Quakes' roster before, nine of which are from the 2009 season.
The Quakes' roster will feature three players which Baseball America ranks among their "Top-30 Prospects". 20-year old right-hander Tyler Chatwood, ranked as the #14 prospect within the Angels' system, will be part of the five-man rotation. He'll be joined by fellow 20-year old, left-hander Will Smith, who is rated #15.
Infielder Alexi Amarista, who won the Midwest League batting title last season, is the only position player to crack Baseball America's Top-30, checking in at #17.
The pitching staff includes former Quakes LHP Robert Fish, LHP Manuel Flores, RHP Jeremy Haynes, RHP Mike Kenney, RHP Eddie McKiernan, RHP Nick Pugliese, RHP Matt Shoemaker and LHP Andrew Taylor. The remainder of the pitching staff includes RHP Manaurys Correa, RHP Jose Perez and RHP Christian Scholl, all of whom will be first-time Quakes.
Joining Amarista around the diamond are infielders Dillon Baird, Ivan Contreras, Gabe Jacobo, Darwin Perez and Jon Townsend.
Rian Kiniry, the only position player with Quakes' experience is one of four outfielders on the roster. He's joined by Tyson Auer, Angel Castillo and Roberto Lopez.
The Quakes will carry a pair of catchers, with Beau Brooks and Anel de los Santos making the squad.
The coaching staff has four returning members, led by Manager Keith Johnson. Hitting Coach Damon Mashore, Pitching Coach Dan Ricabal, Athletic Trainer Mike Metcalfe and newcomer, Strength and Conditioning Coach Kenton Hill, make up the remainder of the staff.
The Quakes are in action on Tuesday night, for a pre-season tune-up against Azusa Pacific University. Game time is 6:05pm and tickets are still available by calling the Azusa Pacific baseball office at (626) 815-6000. Tickets are just $5 with the proceeds going back to Azusa Pacific University.
