Quad City's Mickey Lang Named Easton/CHL Player of the Month

GLENDALE, AZ (January 31, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Quad City Mallards forward Mickey Lang has been named the Easton Central Hockey League Player of the Month for January/2013. Lang will receive a special gift from Easton and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

Lang, 26, had points in all nine of the games he played in the month of January totaling eight goals and eight assists with a +5 plus/minus rating and a pair of game winning goals. The highlight of the month came on January19 when the Hillsdale, New Jersey native recorded a league-high for the season six points (three goals, three assists) in a 7-1 win over Denver.

The 5-10, 174-pound forward's strong play earned him his first call-up to the American Hockey League (Rockford) where he played in one game. On the season, Lang is tied for fourth in the CHL with 49 points (23-26=49) and leads the league with four shorthanded goals.

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for January include Allen's Brett Skinner, Arizona's Chad Nehring, Bloomington's Nicklas Lindberg, Denver's A.J. Gale, Fort Worth's John Snowden and Chad Woollard, Missouri's Ryan Jardine, Quad City's Mike Stinziani, Rapid City's Jesse Schultz, Tulsa's Ben Gordon and Wichita's R.G. Flath, Neil Trimm and Greg er Hanson.
