Quad City Steamwheelers Raise $8,080 Through Jersey Auction

June 29, 2007, (Moline, Ill.) - The Quad City Steamwheelers raised $8,080 tonight through their annual jersey auction. All proceeds benefited QC Fist, a group to support our military and their families on U.S. Army Heroes' Night.

The Quad City players raised a total of $5,725 with backup quarterback Matt Pike's jersey going for a total of $825. Quarterback J.J. Raterink's jersey sold for $675, while lineman Kika Kaululaau's went for $650.

QCA Pools & Spas pledged to match the highest jersey bid and donated $825 on the night, while local credit unions pitched in $700. In addition to Heroes' Night it was also Quad City Credit Unions night and approximately 700 tickets were sold to credit unions for the game, with a dollar from each ticket going to support QC Fist.

A selected number of special Deck Mates jerseys, that were worn in the second half were also auctioned. They went for a total of $830.
