Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, N.Y., Mar. 13, 2008) - The Long Island Ducks are currently seeking members of the community that are interested in serving as host families for a Ducks player during the 2008 baseball season. Those interested should contact Gerry Anderson, director of administration, at (631) 940-3825, extension 114, or send an email to ganderson@liducks.com.
"Becoming a host family is a great way to get involved with the club and really feel like a part of the team," says Ducks general manager Michael Pfaff. "Players often become like another member of the family, and keep in touch with their host families after the season has ended. Year in and year out, hosting a player has been a gratifying and positive experience for everyone involved."
To become a host family, all that is needed is a private bedroom, use of a bathroom, washer/dryer and kitchen. Any other amenities that host families can provide are always greatly appreciated by the players.
The Long Island Ducks play their home games at Citibank Park and are entering their ninth season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. For further information, visit www.liducks.com, or call (631) 940-3825.
