Puck Drops in Topeka for Game One of RoadRunners Series

The Wild have safely arrived in Topeka, Kansas for a three game series against the RoadRunners and have already participated in game one of this road trip. Topeka walked back to their locker room with a 3-0 win but the series isn't over by any stretch of the imagination. Game One may have been won by the home team, but there are still two more games up for grabs.

RoadRunners forward Sam Rennaker scored the first point of the game with a power play goal at 16:20 that was assisted by Jasen Fernsler and Daniel Brickley.

There was no scoring in the second period.

Dominic Lutz put Topeka up 2-0 at 8:55 with assistance from Matt Jennings and Rennaker scored the third and last goal of the game at 16:05 in the third on another power play opportunity. Jasen Fernsler and Mike Gornall had the assists.

Wenatchee ended the game with a 10-4-10 shot record. The Wild were called on 4 infractions and they went to David Powlowski (High Sticking), Chris Jones (Kneeing) (Delay of Game), and Brendan Harris (Boarding).

Michael Bullion guarded the Wenatchee goal, and while being in net for 60 total minutes, he stopped 22 shots on goal out of 25.

Coach Littler stated, "Special teams were the difference. We made plays 5 on 5 but need to finish."

Game Two of this series will begin at 5:05 pm PST (7:05 pm CST) tomorrow December 13th. Game Three, taking place on December 14th, will begin at 4:05 pm PST (6:05 pm CST).
