
Prowlers Widen Gap on Danville with 5-1 Victory

(Port Huron, MI) A 51 Save night for Cory Simons with an offensive explosion in the third period gave the Prowlers a win, and a double-digit lead on Danville for the final playoff spot in the FHL.
Matt Robertson opened the scoring with just over 6 minutes left to go in the first. That's how the score would remain all the way into the third period. Fred Hein netted his fifth goal of the weekend to tie the game at 1 six minutes into the third.
Three minutes later, Danville gives up two goals 14 seconds apart from Alex Johnson and Dalton Jay. Port Huron wouldn't look back as they netted two more tallies from Matt Graham and Johnson's 2nd goal sealed the deal to secure a 5-1 victory.
Johnson and Robertson record four-point nights for the Prowlers, Dalton Jay a goal and assist give him an eight-point weekend, and Cory Simons makes 98 saves in both his starts to secure a series win.
Dashers will road trip to Elmira for a Wednesday game on their way to Watertown for a weekend series with the Wolves. Port Huron will bus trip to Mentor for Friday and Saturday before coming back home on Sunday to host the Ice Breakers.
