
Prowlers Pull Away from Dashers 5-2

Port Huron Prowlers News Release
Port Huron, MI - Part III of a weekend series between Danville and Port Huron would end up in the Prowlers taking two of three games from Danville. Prowlers get the victory 5-2.
This time it was the Prowlers who would own the first goal of the game Jared Hicks would net the ice breaker on the power play as he deflected a point shot from Justin Alonzo that got by Matt Anthony. Danville would answer on a power play of their own. Ryan Stouffer would bury a rebound opportunity that came off a shot from Brad Denney 3:24 after the Alonzo goal both teams would be tied at 1 going into the locker room after the 1st period.
2nd period would be all Prowlers Austin Daae would net his 2nd goal in as many nights and it would be the go-ahead goal in the 2nd period coming from the stick of Roger Tagoona. Newly acquired Prowler Zach Tatrn would register his first goal as a member of the Prowlers it came with 2:09 left to go in the 2nd period and it came off the sticks of Chris Leveille and Matt Fuller. It would be Leveille's 2nd assist of the night, and the Prowlers would go up 3-1 and take that lead into the dressing room afer the 2nd frame.
Danville would respond in the third period Justin Levac would cut the Prowler lead in half on the Dashers 5th power play of the night. It would bring Danville within a goal with 7:24 left to go in the 3rd. 1:58 later Zach Tatrn would freeze off all the worry warts, for Prowler fans. He would score again for his 2nd goal of the night. Len Pelletier would add an empty net goal and it was the cherry on top of the sundae for the Prowlers, who for the first time this season beat the Dashers in back-to-back games. Matt Anthony would finish his night with 32 saves on 37 shots. Dan McWhinney gets his 2nd win in a row making 32 saves on 34 shots. The two teams will face off again Fri, February 19th in Danville.
