Riverdrivers Streak Now 5, Down Demolition 4-3

Berlin, NH - The Berlin Riverdrivers make it 5 in a row with tonight's victory over the Dayton Demolition. Berlin jumped out to a four goal lead and was able to shutdown a comeback from the Demolition.

The Riverdrivers left off where they finished the night before scoring 3 times in the first period. At 6:01 of the first it was Brantley Sherwood who gave the Riverdrivers the early 1-0 lead with assists going to Pavel Kubena and Matias Simontival. After a few mintues of back and forth hockey, Berlin extended their lead to 3-0 with two goals coming a mere 24 seconds apart. Berlin's second goal coming at 10:09 of the first as Stephen Gallo ringing it of the post coming from Sherwood and Jiri Pestuka. Then at 10:33 Berlin's Tyler Prendergast found the back of the net with assists going to Tom Tracy and Andre Niec. Berlin would head to the locker room after one period with a 3-0 lead.

The second period was a quite one with each team getting a goal a piece. At 7:26 of the second Riverdrivers Tracy went bar down short side over the shoulder of the Dayton net minder with Gallo and Prendergast getting credit for assists on the play. From there on out the Demolition tried to mount a comeback but came up short. Dayton's first goal at 12:46 on the powerplay scored by Brian Marks, assisted by Martin Uhnak and Shea Carey. That would do it for the second period with the Riverdrivers leading the Demolition 4-1.

The third period was battle as Dayton was able to cut the Berlin lead to one. At 8:23 of the third Dayton made it 4-2 when Carey found the back of the net on the pass from Uhnak. Then at 13:40 into the third Jacques Lamoureux made it 4-3 as he stuffed home the rebound with Mike Henderson and Michael Dolman getting assists. That would pretty much do it for the rest of regulation as the Riverdrivers were able to shut down the comeback and skate off the ice with the win. Berlin takes their 5 game win streak on the road tomorrow where they square off with the Brewster Bulldogs. Game time is 5:00pm in Brewster, New York.
