Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - Gavin Prout, the Colorado Mammoth's captain and leading scorer, re-signed with the team on Wednesday, agreeing to a one-year contract with the defending National Lacrosse League champions.
Prout, who ranked fourth in NLL scoring last season with 94 points, set an NLL playoff record when he racked up 25 points in three postseason games while leading the Mammoth to its first title.
"Gavin is our leader on and off the floor," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "We expected big things from him last year and he delivered in every way. He is the ultimate team player and he makes every one around him better."
Prout, a three-time All-Pro selection, has represented the Mammoth at the NLL All-Star Game the last three seasons. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Whitby, Ontario, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NLL entry draft after an All-American career at Loyola College in Maryland.
