Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed veteran forward Garrett Prosofsky, the club's front office announced today.

Prosofsky, a 5-11, 190-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is entering his seventh season as a pro, his fourth in Oklahoma City. Last season, Prosofsky led the team in goals with 23 and was third on the club with 50 points (23-27-50). For the second straight season, he also led the team in game-winning goals with six.

The 27-year old Prosofsky was a fifth-round choice (139th overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. In 312 professional games, Prosofsky has amassed 277 points (117-160-277) and served 429 penalty minutes. In 142 games in Oklahoma City, he has recorded 144 points (53-91-144) and served 262 penalty minutes.

"Prosofsky is an experienced and versatile player," said Blazers head coach Doug Sauter. "He can play center or play on the wing and he has excellent hands. Pro will be in a new role this season as a veteran player on our hockey club. I will look to him to provide even more leadership on and off the ice for our club."

Prosofsky joins fellow veteran forward Marty Standish as players signed by the Blazers for the 2007-08 season. Each CHL team is permitted to carry four players with 280-or-more games of professional experience.

Season tickets for the Blazers 16th season of play in the Central Hockey League are currently available. Sweet season 16 of Blazers hockey begins October 19.
