
Prince Albertâ??s comeback effort falls short in third period

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders scored twice mid-way through the third period but was unable to find the equalizer in a 5-4 setback to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Tuesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
With nine minutes remaining in the third period, Parker Kelly connected for his first Western Hockey League goal. Only 44 seconds later, Kelly would help set-up another Raider tally to make it a one-goal game. Prince Albert pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker in the final minute but could not find the back of the net to tie the score.
Playing in his 300th WHL game, Jordan Tkatch netted a pair of goals and picked up an assist for three points. Vojtech Budik (2a) and Kelly (1g-1a) registered two points, while Jesse Lees also scored for the Raiders.
Justin Gutierrez (1g-2a) collected three points to lead the Hurricanes, who also received strong contributions from Tyler Wong (1g-1a), Egor Babenko (1g-1a), and Ben Duperreault (2a). Giorgio Estephan and Brady Reagan also scored for Lethbridge in the win.
Rylan Parenteau started the game for the Raiders and made 22 saves on 27 shots through 43 minutes. Ian Scott would come in for the reminder of the third period and kicked out the only shot he saw.
Lethbridge netminder Stuart Skinner stopped 37 of 41 shots.
The Raiders outshot the Hurricanes 41-28. Prince Albert went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Lethbridge was 1-for-5.
Prince Albert slips to 18-11-2-1 on the season, while Lethbridge boosts their record to 21-11-0-0.
The Raiders are back in action this weekend when they play a pair of games against two of the WHL's elite teams. On Friday, December 18, Prince Albert will host the defending league champion Kelowna Rockets. The following night, the Brandon Wheat Kings will be in town for a pivotal East Division clash.
