Pride Take Down Quebec in Season Finale; 7-6

(Nashua, N.H., September 1, 2008) The Nashua Pride took a 7-6 victory in ten innings in the season finale against the Quebec Capitales at Stade Municipal on Monday.

Nashua designated hitter Dorian Rojas had the game winning hit in the top of the tenth, and finished 2-for-4 with a RBI. Third baseman Argenis Tavarez was 1-for-4 in the game with a home run and two RBI while shortstop Luke Enman went 2-for-5, recording his first professional hit and RBI in the game.

Pride starting pitcher Isaac Burkett did not factor in a decision going seven innings, giving up one run, on three hits, three walks and four strike outs. Reliever Brett Palanski (3-3) earned the win pitching two innings, giving up two runs, on three hits, one walk and one strike out. Pride closer Adam Piechowski earned the save, giving up a run and striking out a pair in the tenth.

Capitales starter David Wasylak also did not factor in a decision, going four shutout innings, giving up four hits while striking out one. Reliever Mark James suffered the loss (4-3) pitching two innings, giving up two runs, on three hits and one walk.

Quebec catcher Patrick D'Aoust drove in a pair of RBI in the game and finished 2-for-3. Third baseman Pat Deschenes went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI while teammate Eddie Lantigua also double and notched a RBI, he ended the game 1-for-5.
