
Pride Sign Melendez and Santos

American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
(Nashua, N.H., June 10, 2008) Nashua Pride officials have announced today that the team has signed pitcher German Melendez and infielder Anthony Santos.
Melendez, a right-hander, will join the Pride pitching staff after spending ten professional seasons within the Houston Astros farm system. He spent 2007 at the AA level with Corpus Christi, accumulating a 6-5 record and a 4.18 ERA, in 79.2 innings pitched.
Santos, a Chelmsford, Mass. native, is coming off his senior year with Umass Lowell and will help solidify the Pride infield. Santos batted .280 in the Northeast-10 Conference for the RiverHawks. He hit eight doubles, two triples, and drove in 22 RBI in his senior year.
The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its 11th season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
