
Pride Past Rapidz; 10-5

(Nashua, N.H., August 19, 2008) The Nashua Pride rallied from down 5-0 after the first inning to overtake the Ottawa Rapidz, 10-5, at Ottawa Stadium on Tuesday night.
Nashua first baseman Bryan Duplissie led the rally and cranked a grand slam, his sixteenth home run of the season, in the fifth inning and finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI. Designated hitter Ismael Castro also drove in four runs, going 2-for-4 with a double. Center fielder Ervin Alcantara (1-for-3) and third baseman Argenis Tavarez (3-for-4) also added RBI for the visitors.
Pride starting pitcher Jason Paul (4-4) earned the win lasting five innings, giving up five runs, on eight hits, three walks and two strike outs. Reliever John Tesseyman earned the save as the lone man out of the bullpen, dealing four scoreless innings to finish the game for the Pride.
Ottawa starter Adam Hawes (3-11) suffered the loss going six and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs, on ten hits, two walks and four strike outs. Reliever Jacob Ramos allowed one run in two and one-third innings of work.
Rapidz first baseman Jabe Bergeron went 3-for-5 in the game with two RBI while designated hitter Jake Daubert was 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI. Third baseman Nate Hall also notched a double and RBI in the game.
The Pride and Rapidz will play again on Wednesday night, at 7:05pm, when Nashua sends Hideki Nagasaka (7-5) to the hill against Ottawa's Tanner Watson (3-6) .
