Sussex scored seven runs in the seventh inning to take a 10-0 lead on Quebec and went on to victory by the final score of 10-2. Matt Weston hit a three-run homer in that inning, his 19th of the season. Every Sussex batter had at least one hit in the game. Skyhawks starter Craig Snipp tossed seven shutout innings and moved his record to 6-5. Orlando Trias took the loss for Quebec and dropped to 6-2. With the win, Sussex climbs to within a half game of the Capitales and Surf for first place.

Nashua 10, Ottawa 5

@ Ottawa, ON Time: 2:44 Attendance: 1,967

Down 5-0 after one inning, Nashua came storming back to score 10 unanswered runs and beat Ottawa 10-5. With the score 5-2 Ottawa in the top of the fifth inning, 1B Bryan Duplissie's grand slam put the Pride on top for good. He finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI. DH Ismael Castro went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in four as well. After a rocky first inning in which he surrendered five earned runs, Nashua starter Jason Paul settled in and completed five innings to earn the win and even his mark at 4-4. Adam Hawes started for Ottawa and allowed nine earned runs in 6 2/3 innings to fall to 4-11.

Atlantic City 4, Brockton 2

Atlantic City SS Anthony Granato hit two home runs in the game and starter Rory Shortell held the Brockton offense down for six innings as the Surf doubled up the Rox 4-2. Granato led off the home half of the first inning with a solo homer and added an insurance run with another bomb in the eighth to finish the night 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Shortell allowed just one hit and one earned run in six innings and improved to 8-3 with the win. Santo Hernandez pitched eight innings for Brockton but allowed four earned runs and dropped to 0-1. LF Joe Burke also went 3-for-4 in the game for Atlantic City.

Worcester 5, New Jersey 4

HR: WOR- Francisco Caraballo (17), Scott Grimes (17); NJ- Matt Lauderdale (9)

LF Francisco Caraballo and RF Scott Grimes each went deep and combined to drive in three runs as Worcester edged New Jersey 5-4. 1B Chris Colabello added two hits and scored a run and the Tornadoes out hit the Jackals 8-4. Worcester reliever Eddie Pena tossed a scoreless 1 1/3 innings and got the win. John Birtwell came on the ninth inning and struck out two for his 12th save. New Jersey 3B Chris Kelly had two hits in four trips to the plate and C Matt Lauderdale hit his ninth homer of the year in a losing effort.
