Pride avoid sweep in win

*AUGUSTA, N.J. - *Nashua used a 13-hit attack to score a 10-1 victory and avoid a series sweep to the Sussex Skyhawks on Thursday night at Skylands Park.

An early cushion was all Pride starter Hideki Nagasaka (4-1) needed, as he gave up just one run on three hits in seven innings to earn his fourth win of the season. Mark Michaels (0-1) took the loss in his first start for the Skyhawks (12-14), giving up five runs on seven hits in four innings of work.

Right fielder Jeremy Pickrel spearheaded the Nashua (12-13) offense, going two for three with a double, a home run and two RBI. Second baseman Ismael Castro went two for four with three RBI, including a two-run triple in the top of the seventh. Left fielder Dennis Abreu chipped in with a three for five, two RBI-night.

Left fielder Alex Frazier finished the night one for four and drove in Sussex's only run, which came in the bottom of the first inning.

Nashua returns to action Friday night for a date with Ottawa. The Skyhawks travel to Quebec on Friday for a 7:05 p.m. game with the Capitales.
