Nashua 2B Ismael Castro and LF Dennis Abreu combined to go 5-for-9 with three runs scored and five RBI. Pride starting pitcher Hideki Nagasaka had more than enough run support. Hits were easy to come by in this one as the Surf and Jackals combined to tally 31 in the game. Atlantic City SS Anothony Granato led all hitters, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. Several other Atlantic City hitters turned in good games, including RF Josh Burrus who was 3-for-6 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Entering the sixth inning, the Surf held an 11-2 lead and appeared to have the game in hand. But by the ninth, the Jackals had cut that lead to 11-8 and it looked as if they might pull off a miracle. It was not to be, though, as the Surf picked up an insurance run in the ninth and went on to win 12-8.
