American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

NASHUA, NH, June 11, 2007) Nashua Pride righthander Akira "A-OK" Okamoto pitched eight strong innings and shortstop Olmo Rosario belted a three-run homer in the fifth inning to provide all the scoring in Nashua's 3-1 triumph over the Atlantic City Surf on Monday night at Historic Holman Stadium in front of 1,012 fans. The Pride (10-7) have won all five of their games this season against Atlantic City (7-10).

Okamoto struck out 11 Surf batters and walked only two while scattering five hits in earning his second win of the season against no losses. Okamoto leads the Can-Am League in strikeouts with 32. Pride closer Rich "El Guapo" Garces worked his way out of a bases loaded jam in the ninth inning to post his Can-Am League-leading sixth save.

Rosario's home run off losing pitcher Donovan Graves (0-4) was his fifth of the season and tied him with teammate Bryan Duplissie for the Can-Am League lead in that category.

The only Atlantic City run off Okamoto came in the second inning on a single up the middle by Denver Kitch scoring Ryan Walker.

The Pride and the Surf play the middle game of the series Tuesday afternoon at 12:05 at Historic Holman Stadium. It'll be a battle of righthanders with 1-0 Lance Stevens on the mound for the Pride and 1-2 Monte Mansfield for the Surf.
