Preview: Storm Host Omaha for Election Day Game
Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm return home tonight following a three game road stretch against Omaha, Lincoln, and Des Moines. Tri-City faces off against rival Omaha, and will look to improve to 3-0-1-0 against the Lancers this season. The Storm enter tonight's game in 4th place in the Western Conference standings, but can regain control of the top spot in the conference standings with a win over Omaha tonight. Puck drop at the Viaero Center is set for 7:05pm.
Tri-City (8-2-1-0) battles rival Omaha for the fourth time in a nine game season series tonight at the Viaero Center in Kearney. The Storm have proved to be one of the best home teams in the league this season, and enter tonight's game as the only team in the USHL team yet to lose a game in regulation at home. The Storm's only loss at the Viaero Center this season came in overtime against Omaha on October 21st. Tonight's game marks the first game of a four game week for Tri-City. The Storm and the Lancers will meet again on Friday in Ralston, NE, before the Storm return home to host Sioux Falls for Military Appreciation Night on Saturday night. Tri-City's fourth game of the week will come on Sunday afternoon at the Ice Box in Lincoln, NE against the Lincoln Stars.
Omaha (4-6-0-1) enters tonight's game as the 7th place team in the Western Conference standings. Despite being in 15th place in the USHL league standings, the Lancers have been one of the best road teams in the league this season. Excluding a natural site game at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic, Omaha is 3-1 on the year when playing away from home at Ralston Arena. Like Tri-City, tonight's game is the beginning of a four game in six day stretch for the Lancers. Omaha will host the Storm on Friday night, travel to Cedar Rapids on Saturday night, and then host Cedar Rapids on Sunday to complete a three game weekend.
The Tri-City Storm is running several promotions for tonight's game. Any fan who attends tonight's game wearing an "I Voted" sticker will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Storm jersey. Fans attending tonight's game are also encouraged to participate in tonight's "First Goal Contest" on the Storm Mobile App. The winner of the contest, who is in attendance at the game, will win a $100 credit in the team's official apparel store, The Storm Store. Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio.
