
Preview: Spirit Begin Three-Game Road Swing in Windsor Sunday

Windsor, Ontario - The Saginaw Spirit (10-6-1-1 22pts.) begin a three-game road trip on Sunday evening against the Windsor Spitfires (9-9-0-1 19pts.) at the WFCU Centre. Saginaw dropped the opening game of the season series in Windsor, 7-5.
Saginaw is looking to win their third game in as many days after defeating Mississauga on Friday and Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday. The Spirit took the game against Western Conference leading Greyhounds, 5-3.
Dexter, Michigan native, D.J. Busdeker was honored with the first star in the last two Spirit games. Busdeker scored three goals with four points in the past two games.
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native, Nicholas Porco added a goal in the victory over the Greyhounds. The Spirit 2017 first round pick has been on a tear scoring goals this season, tied for the team-lead with nine goals. Porco had a goal and assist in the first meeting with the Windsor Spitfires.
Cole Coskey is the other Saginaw Spirit player with nine goals so far this season. Coskey's 21 points is second among Spirit players in behind overager Albert Michnac.
New York Islanders prospect Bode Wilde has two points in his first two games back from an upper-body injury. The Plymouth, Michigan native is eighth among OHL defensemen in points with 15 in just 12 games.
Arizona Coyotes prospect Ivan Prosvetov has been stellar in last two games allowing just four total goals with a save percentage of .939.
The Spirit goal scorers will be put to the test in Windsor going up against Michael DiPietro, who leads the OHL in goals against average with 2.27. The Vancouver Canucks prospect has been excellent in his career boasting a 12-3-0-1 record with two shut-outs against Saginaw. DiPietro earned OHL goaltender of the year honors for his effort in the 2017-18 season.
Windsor first round pick Jean-Luc Foudy leads the team with 12 points. Foudy went 10th overall in the 2018 OHL Draft.
Dallas Stars prospect Curtis Douglas has been strong throughout his career against Saginaw. Douglas has four goals and eight points in nine games against the Spirit.
