MATCH PREVIEW

After weathering a 0-3-1 road stint that included the worst defeat in franchise history, a 6-2 loss to Louisville City FC two weeks ago, Energy FC (7-5-4) returns to Taft Stadium, looking to get back on track against Orange County Blues FC (7-8-1). The teams met on July 1 in Irvine, Calif., where the Blues handed OKC its first shutout loss of the season, 1-0.

Energy FC is coming off a 1-1 tie with LA Galaxy II last Sunday. In the match, Danni K?nig tallied his league-leading 11th goal of the season, while goal keeper Evan Newton made a number of saves to earn OKC a draw against a Galaxy team OKC had been winless against in four matches last season.

Since defeating OKC 1-0 on July 1, Orange County has dropped consecutive games, losing 2-0 to Arizona United SC on July 5 and 4-1 to Tulsa Roughnecks FC this past Thursday. Orange County has suffered shutout losses in four of its last six matches and has scored just a single goal in two of those previous six.
