Kansas City Comets News Release

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Following a three-week break after falling to the Chicago Mustangs earlier this month, the Missouri Comets (11-3) return home to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena to host longtime rival Baltimore Blast (11-1) in a 2014/15 Conference Championship rematch.

The match, which is scheduled to kick off at 3:05 p.m. CT, will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast and can also be followed via Twitter at @CometsMASL.

Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team will be wearing special edition jerseys for the annual gold game, which will be auctioned off at the end of the game. All proceeds will go to The Dalton Everett Burner Foundation (TDEBF). In addition, halftime entertainment will include the yearly Mascot Game.

Both Baltimore and Missouri will play three regular season games in less than a month. The Comets will visit Royal Farms Arena on 2/19 before returning to Independence for the regular season finale on 2/27. The Blast lead the All-time series 10-3.

The Blast will enter the match after having visited the St. Louis Ambush last night and dropping their first game of the season last weekend against the Syracuse Silver Knights. However, despite those results, both teams have secured a spot in the 2015/16 MASL Playoffs.

Team captain Vahid Assadpour leads the league with 17 goals and 25 assists for a total of 42 points. On the other hand, the Blast are led by forward Vini Dantas with 20 goals, 10 assists and 30 points.

Missouri's only absence will be defender Brian Harris who hasn't recovered from a knee injury suffered last month.

Next up, the Comets host the Chicago Mustangs on Saturday, February 6 in the second to last home game of the season. For tickets, please call 855-4KC-GOAL.
