Minnesota United FC News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn-- Minnesota United (10W-6D-8L, 36pts) returns to National Sports Center Stadium to face off against the Ottawa Fury (5W-8D-11L, 23pts) Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CDT - fans can catch all the action live on My29 and ESPN3.
"This game is a bit different because Ottawa play a different style. We have to make a different type of adjustment this week to accommodate what we do best on the pitch," said United Head Coach Carl Craig. "When we create twenty chances and score one and win one-nil it's great, but when we create those chances and don't finish, something has to give."
UNITED NOTES | FURY NOTES
Minnesota United is finally getting healthy for the home stretch. Defender Kevin Venegas has returned to action and full fitness in recent weeks, as well as forward Stefano Pinho - both saw action last week in New York. Midfielders Greg Jordan and Bernardo Añor have returned to non-contact training. This all comes at an opportune time down the final stretch of the season as the Loons continue to press for the playoffs and an outside chance at the Fall Season crown.
Minnesota United suffered a last minute draw last time out against the Fury on the road at TD Place. The Loons held a 2-1 leading heading into the final minutes when the Fury were able to finish a chance and tie the game up. United will look to maintain focus for 90 full minutes this time at home, a venue where they hold a 9-1-2 record this year, while the Fury are just 1-3-8 on the road.
