The Bees: Steve Carrillo is enjoying one of the best stretches by a Bees' position player so far this season. With last night's walk-off double, the infielder has now had a hit in 11 straight games and is hitting .375 (15-40) during the streak. He also has added several highlight-worthy plays at second base in support of the Bees' pitchers.
The Opposition: Despite having an ERA over six entering today's game, Blue Crabs' starter Scott Snodgress pitched well in his first outing against the Bees this season back on May 18. The left-hander pitched six scoreless innings, giving up just four hits and two walks while striking out six.
Starters
New Britain- LHP Josh Outman (1-2, 3.96) | Southern Maryland- LHP Scott Snodgress (1-3, 6.02)
Key to the Game- Back to the future: The last time Josh Outman faced the Blue Crabs, he held them to just two runs in seven innings of work while striking out six. The veteran left-hander will try to duplicate that performance as he looks to get back on track after giving up 11 runs combined between his last two starts since that May 19 start vs. Southern Maryland.
