New Britain Bees News Release
In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees open up a crucial four-game series on the road tonight against the Somerset Patriots! First pitch 7:05PM!
Series: The Bees have won each of the first two series they have played against the Patriots this season, both times taking two of three games. This is the first time ever that New Britain visits Somerset.
Bees Home Tickets: Available at the New Britain Stadium Box Office | Call 860-826-BEES
The Bees: New Britain started its eight-game road trip off on a very good start, winning the first two games against Lancaster. However, they then dropped the finale two games of the series. At 30-32, the Bees still sit just 4.5 games back of the Patriots and Long Island Ducks in the Liberty Division.
The Opposition: The Patriots enter tonight's game having lost three of four to the Sugar Land Skeeters. Somerset still remains in the first place, however they are now tied with the Ducks atop the Liberty Division with a 35-28 record.
Starters
New Britain- RHP Kyle Simon (2-1, 1.70) | Somerset-LHP Rudy Owens (0-1, 3.68)
Key to the Game - No big innings:Over the last two games of their series with Lancaster, the Bees became susceptible to allowing big innings to the Barnstormers' offense. Lancaster brought home at least four runs in an inning three times against the Bees this past weekend. If the Bees hope to make up any ground on the Patriots this week, their pitchers need to limit the damage as much as possible to avoid having to try to climb out of big deficits.

Bees Buzz: Kyle Simon tossed a complete game shutout in his last start, which came against Somerset at New Britain Stadium...Steve Carrillo is hitting .444 (8-18) during his four-game hitting streak, with a double in each of the four games...The Bees have been running wild on the bases this month, ranking second in the league with 25 stolen bases (in 32 attempts) as a team this month (Somerset- 29)...
