
Pressley Homer Leads Patriots to 4-2 over Ducks

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots defeated the Long Island Ducks 4-2 on Wednesday night.
Somerset broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning after designated hitter Josh Pressley (3) hit a solo homerun to left field to give the Patriots a 3-2 lead.
Long Island scored to take the lead in the top of the first inning. Right fielder John Rodriguez and designated hitter Dustan Mohr both reached on walks and catcher Robinson Cancel drove an RBI single to left field to score Rodriguez to make the score 1-0.
The Ducks added to their lead in the top of the fourth inning after center fielder Johnny Hernandez reached on an error, second baseman Bridger Hunt singled, and shortstop Juan Francia singled to plate Hernandez for the 2-0 advantage.
The Patriots scored twice to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Catcher Jason Belcher started it off with a double, shortstop Elliott Ayala followed with a single to score Belcher, first baseman Joe Burke reached on a fielder's choice and scored on an RBI single by second baseman Tim Raines Jr. to make the score 2-2.
A solo homerun by center fielder Wayne Lydon (2) gave Somerset a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Patriots reliever Ben Grezlovski (3-0) got the win after pitching two scoreless innings and allowing two hits. Ducks starter Randy Leek (8-2) suffered the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings pitched. Patriots closer Ryan Houston picked up his 13th save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
The Somerset Patriots 2010 Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks on Thursday night. The game includes Stress Balls (1st 1,500 Fans) courtesy of Ed Garber PA.
