PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC enters its third week of preseason with 15 players under contract and an additional number invited on trial.

The Week Ahead

The Hounds have two matches scheduled ahead of them this week, first clashing with the University of Pittsburgh at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19 before battling the University of Akron at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. Both of these matches will take place at Highmark Stadium and both are free to attend for the public.

The University of Pittsburgh posted a 10-8-2 overall record in 2019 en route to advancing into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Logging a 4-3-1 record in conference play, the squad also made the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

Competing in the Mid-American Conference, the University of Akron held an unbeaten 4-0-1 conference mark before it fell in the semifinals of the conference tournament. Overall, the team held a 6-10-2 record in 2019.

Last Week

The Hounds fell to Penn State University by a score of 2-0 on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Highmark Stadium. Marking the Black and Gold's first loss this preseason, the club's record now stands at 2-1-0.
