Preseason Match at Du Burns to Benefit Local Charity

Baltimore, MD – The 2003 MISL Champion Baltimore Blast will play an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday, October 4 at 7 p.m. at Du Burns Arena. It will be the first time for Blast fans to see newcomers David Bascome, Carlos "Chile" Farias, Chris Handsor and Neil Gilbert in action with their new Baltimore teammates.

In addition to the new Blast players, the defending champs will return with several of last season's star players, including the Championship Series MVP Denison Cabral, last year's Rookie of the Year P.J. Wakefield and the newly named team captain, Tarik Walker. Veterans Scott Hileman, Lee Tschantret and Danny Kelly are also returning for another season in Baltimore and another shot at the MISL Title.

Tickets to Saturday night's intrasquad scrimmage are just $3 and are available at Du Burns Arena. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the Brian Hunt Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Blast will open the 2003-04 MISL regular season at home on Saturday, October 11 against the Philadelphia KiXX in a rematch of the 2003 Eastern Conference Final, which the Blast won, 8-6. October 11 will be the Blast's official championship celebration and will include a pregame video highlight presentation and championship banner raising ceremony. Opening night will also feature the annual halftime mascot game and introduction of the Blast's new mascot and cheerleading squad.
