Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 29) -- On Thursday, Orlando Predators President Brett Bouchy announced that season ticket sales for 2004 officially climbed past the 9,000 mark. With two weeks remaining before the first home game, the total represents a 20% increase over last year's total for the entire season and marks the first time since the 1995 season that season ticket sales have topped the 9,000 mark.
"Obviously we're excited about our season ticket sales and it's certainly possible that we could top 10,000 season tickets by the start of the 2004 season," Predators President Brett Bouchy said. "Our goal is to rock the TD Waterhouse Centre during Predators home games and make it the place to be on Friday nights."
Bouchy credits the Predators new 11-point marketing plan for the increase in sales. In October, the team announced a new policy whereby season ticket holders would become partners in the organization.
Among other things, the plan called for allowing season ticket partners to purchase championship rings and travel with the team to road games. The plan substantially lowered the price of season tickets in most sections of the TD Waterhouse Centre and created special season ticket partner concessions. Partners were also invited to participate in monthly meetings to discuss all aspects of team operations. The lower ticket prices for 2004 include season tickets starting at just $45 for a nine-game schedule and lower bowl season tickets starting at $90 â just $10 per game.
The return of Friday night football has also helped sales. The Predators petitioned the league for more Friday and Saturday night games after scheduling conflicts at the TD Waterhouse Centre and a new Arena Football League television contract with NBC resulted in the Predators having only one regular season game scheduled on Friday night last season. The 2004 schedule finds the Predators playing at home on Friday or Saturday night five times.
"At a time when most professional sports teams are seeing a decline in season ticket sales and revenues, the Predators are seeing an increase in sales and fan interest," Bouchy added. "I think that is a direct reflection on our goal of providing quality entertainment at an affordable price."
Single game tickets went on sale on Thursday. Those tickets are priced between $8 and $45 and are available for all eight regular season games. For single game, season, group or other ticket information, contact the Predators at 407-44-PREDS.
